OT Nature Play Groups- Dec.

What: Two hour sessions, small groups to practice various skills including: social, emotional, physical and cognitive in a natural setting. Children and their caregivers will build resiliency, try new things and make friends. Each session will incorporate whole group (children and caregivers) and small group (children and caregivers separate) activities and a snack. The groups are limited to 5 families and will be led by an occupational therapist.

Sample activities include: paper making, balance, storytelling, circle games, building, scavenger hunt, parachute and more! Each session will be designed around the participant’s goals and skill levels. The sessions aim to build confidence in natural and social settings.

Pre registration and phone intake required.

Who: Caregiver and child

Cost: $90 per session. ESA, private pay and some insurance options accepted.

Read to a Horse

Who: All ages and abilities!

What: Read a story to one of the horses at Equinimity! Bring your own story or choose from one of ours. Camille France, OT and owner of Desert Quail Therapy, along with other staff will be present to adapt and make accommodations as needed. Wear close-toed shoes and bring a water bottle. Importance of Play- Exploring Rhythms with Nature

Come explore the importance of play! This 4 week course is for adults and will utilize rhythm and natural elements at Equinimity’s outdoor space to frame our activities and interactions. Each session will incorporate and teach ways of “checking in” with yourself and your surroundings; grounding through rhythm in both individual and group; creating art in a collaborative setting and a restorative portion. Bolsters, props and materials provided. The course will be led by Camille France, occupational therapist and owner of Desert Quail Therapy.

 

Each class will meet Tuesdays, from 6pm-7pm, July 9, 16, 30 and August 6. Cost $120.

Intensive Therapeutic Summer Camp 2024

2 Week summer camp for ages 5-10 (40 hours)

Mon-Fri, June 3-14; 8am-12pm

 

Does your child struggle with:

Emotional regulation, playing with peers, balance/ coordination, daily living skills, problem solving, attention, handwriting, playing outside?

 

This may be the camp for your child!

 

·  Camp led by Camille France, occupational therapist.

·  An occupational therapy evaluation is part of the application process and will help to        determine goals for each camper.

·  Individual goals developed with parents, worked on at camp, home program provided

·  Screen free and focuses on understanding ourselves and building relationships with peers and our world.

·  Swimming, gardening, obstacle courses, meal preparation, art & dance lessons led by certified teacher, bodywork (craniosacral, reflex integration, myofascial, kinesiotaping, etc.) and more

·  Small groups, 1:3 adult to child ratio

·  Play based, outdoor with whole group and individual activities

·  Ask about insurance, ESA

·  Horseback riding offered as an “add on” service to be scheduled separately.
